100 word statement
Light, colour and shadows can greatly change the atmosphere of an architectural space. I wanted to show the difference in mood that natural lighting with soft shadows, and dark colourful lighting with sharp shadows would make. The photos taken with more natural toned lighting created a comfortable, relaxing and ambient space, whereas the high contrast, dark room photos with colourful lighting created a more artistic, confident and energetic atmosphere, emulating a ‘party-like’ feeling. The natural lighting made the models feel more mundane and homely and the colourful lighting made the spaces more dynamic and exciting. Evidently, the intensity of light and vividness of colour can transform the atmosphere of an architectural space.
